Central London – The City – Buckhurst Hill, Essex
We specialise in helping children and teens safely manage 'big' feelings

Accidents, falls, divorce, surgery and big life changes, such as going to a different school, can easily overwhelm a child. Left unresolved, symptoms later lead to extra problems later in life.

The good news is we have the transformative tools to support a child to feel safe, fearless and happy again.

Answers to your questions

What traumas/symptoms do you help with?
Surgery, accidents of any kind, abuse, loss of a loved one, bullying, disturbed sleep patterns, being over emotional. If your child's trauma or symptom isn't listed here, please write to me with the details.

What happens in a session?
Our job is to help your child understand what's happening to them, and to playfully teach them to how to feel better when they're feeling 'bad'.

The focus is on (re)building a child's
nervous system regulation at a safe and respectful pace. The more regulated their nervous system the less stress will bring them down, and the quicker they'll let go of it if it does.

Key to this is a healthy attachment to the parent(s) and therapist, which is why sessions are rooted in play merged with key principles of the pioneering Somatic Experiencing (SE) approach.

SE understands that we have hidden within our body-mind's everything we need to overcome life's overwhelming events. The therapist's role is to help your child unlock their innate inner gifts.

How long do sessions last?
Sessions last 50 minutes.

How much does it cost?
£80 a session.

How many sessions will my child need?
I don't know, sorry. However, SE is a short-term modality and sessions designed to empower you and your child with knowledge and practices you can use for the rest of your lives.

How do we best prepare for the sessions?
  • Aim to book sessions at times that don't clash with a favourite activity.
  • Explain to your child why they're coming to see me. I will also confirm why at the start of the session for consistency and clarity.
  • Ask your child to bring a favourite toy or object.
